"one of fifty writers to watch" - Penguin Random House
Reeta writes poetry and short stories and is currently writing her debut novel. Penguin Random House selected Reeta as one of fifty writers to watch on reading the manuscript for her forthcoming book.
Reeta is a features writer and former cover star of Gay Times and curates their Apple Music playlists, spotlighting queer artists around the world. She curated the iconic Gaysians issue of Gay Times in 2018, a first for any LGBT+ publication in the world.
She is a former columnist for DIVA magazine and a current Advisory Board member.
Her essay on ‘Diaspora and Intersections’ is due for publication in May 2020 in a collection of essays centring South Asian writers.
Her writing explores themes relating to identity including gender, caste, class and sexuality as a British-born, Indian woman. She is Founder & CEO of Gaysians.org, an enterprise that promotes positive visibility for South Asian LGBT+ people and In July 2018 Reeta made her debut entry into the Guardian Pride Power List (ranking #51 in 2019) and is a Forbes100 woman founder.
Reeta has also written for Media Diversified, been published by palewell press and featured in STYLIST, is a regular with the BBC, as well as HuffPost, Gal-Dem, Clash, iD, GQ, Resonance FM, Sunrise Radio, GSN, Pink News, Sunday Times, FoundationFm, Kajal Mag and has read her works at the diva literary festival.
