Reeta Loi is a Writer, Music Artist and an award-winning Women’s and LGBTQ+ rights activist whose energy, creativity, and vision bring together people, communities and organisations to help build more compassionate futures.

Reeta is a leading voice for South Asian women and girls and has led the movement for South Asian LGBTQ+ representation for a decade. She is the ‘Forbes 100 Woman Founder’ & CEO of Gaysians, the global movement and network of charities and community organisations. She lobbied for successful decriminalisation of homosexuality in India in 2018 and was a DJ at Mumbai Pride the same year.

Reeta is a music producer, DJ, singer and poet and has been released alongside Sia, Cinematic Orchestra, Meshell Ndegeocello, Mark Ronson and Lou Rhodes. She formerly led production of commercials for Sony where she also composed and headed up music for commercials.

As a writer she is well known for her ground-breaking work as Contributing Editor at Gay Times and as a DIVA columnist. She is currently writing her highly anticipated debut novel.

Reeta’s VICE documentary has amassed over 2 million views and exposed and shut down an International gay marriage scam based in India. Reeta can also be seen on Channel 4’s ‘Where have all the lesbians gone?’.

Reeta takes multi-format storytelling to a new level, as can be seen in her 2022 TEDx London performance. In 2023 Reeta completed a six-month UK tour of her one-person show ‘The Remedy’, headlining at The Barbican, fusing comedy, poetry, storytelling and music after training at RADA.

Reeta has spoken at The Oxford Union, Bloomsbury Festival, TEDxLondon and many organisations including Oxfam, Meta, WPP, Virgin O2, Levi’s, Dr Martens and Burberry. Reeta has been the face of global campaigns for H&M (shot by Rina Yang), Body Shop, Schwarzkopf and Boots Beauty.
